Description

Raspberry Pi PICO an introduction with MicroPython. This course explores how to program and set up the Raspberry Pi Pico microcontroller board using the MicroPython programming language. MicroPython is a lightweight and optimized version of the Python 3 programming language that is specifically designed to run on microcontrollers with minimal memory. The Raspberry Pi RP2040 is a new microcontroller based on the ARM M0+ architecture developed by the Raspberry Pi Foundation that makes programming with MicroPython very easy and enjoyable for students and embedded system enthusiasts. This course covers the basics of MicroPython, how to write Python 3 code, and controlling general purpose input and output (GPIO) pins, with various robotics projects coming soon. In this hands-on course using completely free software, participants will learn about the hardware features of the Pico board, including a dual-core Arm Cortex M0+ processor with a variable frequency of up to 133 MHz, internal flash memory, low-power modes, and a variety of communication ports. The Raspberry Pi Pico board has 26 multipurpose GPIO pins, SPI, I2C, UART communication interfaces, analog-to-digital converters, a temperature sensor, and programmable input/output (PIO) state machines that allow the connection of a variety of sensors and peripherals. After completing this training, learners will be able to easily implement smart electronic systems and Internet of Things projects.
